There is no perfect age to get your ears pierced.
At The Madison Medical Practice we offer ear-piercing from age of 6 weeks and above. All children under the age of 16 years must have parent consent and adult present.
Yes! We follow a Medical Simultaneous Ear-piercing Method, which means that both earlobes are pierced at the same time. The whole procedure is faster, feels safer and more comfortable for the child.
Yes! You can go swimming after piercing your ears, but it is important to consider that the longer period of time that has passed since the time of piercing, the better. If you do go swimming clean straight after with either soapy water or with the reliable Blomdahl Piercing Aftercare Cleansing Swabs, which are gentle on the skin and easy to use.
An ear piercing is in fact a small wound. It is important to take proper care of it throughout the healing period (approx. 6–12 weeks), in order to avoid it getting infected. By following the aftercare instructions, you can minimize the risk of infection.
1/ Never touch your ears with unclean hands.
2/ Wash your newly pierced ears (on both sides) thoroughly once or twice a day
Do not remove the earrings when cleansing:
When showering/washing your hair, use liquid soap and rinse thoroughly with clean running water. Dry with a Kleenex, Q-tip, or gentle towel.
Supplementary cleansing is done with Blomdahl Piercing Aftercare cleansing swabs, which are gentle on the skin. The swabs make it possible to clean between your ears and the earrings/earring backs. Allow to air dry. Use a new cleansing swab for each ear, each time.
Note! Do not clean with alcohol.
