At The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby, we operate as a mixed billing practice. This means we offer both bulk billing and private billing options, depending on your age, circumstances, and the day of your visit.

Weekday Consultation Billing
Who qualifies for bulk billing on weekdays?
All patients aged between 16 and 69 years (inclusive) will be charged privately for all weekday GP consultations. A proportionate amount of this fee can be claimed back from Medicare after the consultation.
On weekdays, patients aged 15 years and under or 70 years and over, or those who present a valid pension card PRIOR to their consultation will be bulk billed for most GP consultations. Certain consultations may incur an out-of-pocket fee, which will be discussed during your consultation by your GP.
Please note: Standard weekday consultations with GP Registrars, Dr Adele Liu and Dr Lakshi Gauthaman, will be bulk billed. For Saturday consultations and all procedures, a gap fee will apply.

Normal Hours Fees (Weekdays and Saturdays Before 1pm)
The following fees apply during normal consultation hours on weekdays and Saturday mornings before 1pm. MBS rebate amounts shown are as at 01/07/25, adjusted 2.4% CPI and are subject to change.

Saturday Consultation Fees (After-Hours Rates Apply After 1pm)
All patients, irrespective of age, will be charged privately for all GP consultations on Saturdays. Scheduled immunisations and nursing appointments will be bulk billed. After-hours fees apply after 1pm.

Important Information About Our Fees
Additional charges and professional services
The fees listed above are used as a guide. As General Practitioners are independent consulting medical professionals, in some circumstances they may charge additional fees on top of a standard billing consultation for more complex professional specialist services. Your GP will advise at the time of your consultation if an extra fee will be applied.
All consulting GPs, Allied Health Professionals and Medical Specialists operate their own medical business through The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby in a commercial agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fees
Non-attendance of any appointment may result in a $50.00 cancellation fee. If you are unable to make an appointment, please call our friendly staff to reschedule at least 2 hours before GP consultations and 48 hours for Allied Health professionals and Medical Specialists.

On weekdays, bulk billing is available for patients aged 15 years and under, patients aged 70 years and over, and those who present a valid pension card prior to their consultation. Please note that certain consultations may still incur an out-of-pocket fee.

After your privately billed consultation, you can claim your Medicare rebate through the Medicare app, online via myGov, or at a Medicare service centre. Our reception staff can process your Medicare claim at the time of payment if you have your Medicare details registered.
Yes, telehealth consultations are available for existing patients who have attended a face-to-face appointment within the last 12 months. Telehealth consultations attract the same fees as in-person consultations and are eligible for Medicare rebates.
