Dr Denise Huang

Medical Principal MBBS (Hons), FRACGP, Dip. Child Health

Dr Denise Huang is the current Medical Principal of the Madison Medical Practice Hornsby and has consulted at the practice for nearly a decade. During this time she has provided excellent medical care to the Hornsby community whilst demonstrating leadership to her peers.

She graduated from Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery UNSW with Honours in 2009 and completed hospital training at Royal North Shore Hospital with extended experience in oncology and palliative care. She has also completed a Diploma of Child Health. She is a compassionate and caring GP that understands the difficulties of dealing with unfavourable diagnoses and how health issues affect the entire family.

Dr Denise Huang is an active member of the RACGP and is currently involved in supervision and training of GP registrars and medical students.

Dr Huang is passionate about delivering holistic and individualised care to her patients by focusing on good communication, and providing latest treatment options. She has a broad medical and minor surgical skill set which complements her interests in managing complex chronic illnesses, paediatric health, women’s health as well as aged care.

More recently, appreciating the demands of a working mother and needing to look after one’s mental health, physical health and general appearance, Denise has undertaken further training to provide personalised medical advice on menopause hormone therapy, weight loss and in-clinic cosmetic procedures.

Dr Jesse Luo

MBBS, FRACGP, Dip Ch Health

Dr Jesse Luo is a dedicated male GP who graduated from Medicine at the University of Newcastle with honours in 2012. Jesse prides himself on quality medical care and is currently teaching the next generation of medical professionals these skills, at both undergraduate and postgraduate university levels. Jesse trained at Westmead Hospital gaining experience in Emergency care, Respiratory and Palliative Care medicine. He has completed the Diploma in Child Health in 2014, and gained a diverse range of experience during his rural General Practice training in Muswellbrook and in the Central Coast. Dr Luo is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin (可提供中文服务).

Dr Jordan Summers

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Jordan Summers is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and obtained his medical degree at Sydney University. Prior to studying medicine Jordan worked in Outdoor Education and studied a Bachelor of Human Movement at UTS.

Jordan completed his Internship and Residency at Hornsby Hospital where he gained experience in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine and Rehabilitation. Jordan thoroughly enjoys all aspects of General Practice, particularly the opportunity to be able to provide continuity of care for his patients and their families.

Jordan’s special interests include family medicine, paediatrics, mental health, sports medicine and preventative care. Apart from work he enjoys spending time with his young family, skiing, paddle boarding and riding his mountain bike.

Dr Michael Shen

MBBS MPH FRACGP

Dr Michael Shen is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from Monash University and enhanced his knowledge by completing a Masters of Public Health from University of New South Wales and Graduate Certificate of Allergic Diseases from Western Sydney University

Michael’s medical training has seen him care and treat patients in a variety of hospitals in Sydney, Melbourne, Warragul and Bathurst. Michael’s exposure as a Registrar in the specialty areas of Cardiology and Respiratory medicine has led him to utilise these skills now in General Practice.

He has a particular interest in managing moderate to severe Allergic Rhinitis (hay fever), Asthma and Eczema. He does aero allergen Skin Prick Testing (SPT) for environmental allergens and can treat patients with aero-allergen densensitisation immunotherapy to significantly improve symptoms long term.

Michael has a strong passion for Preventative Health Care with an aim to help all his patients achieve a well-balanced lifestyle. Michael performs aero allergy testing, nasoendoscopy, spirometry, foreign-body removal, suturing and wound management.

Dr Zhixin Ning

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Zhixin Ning is a dedicated general practitioner who graduated from The University of New South Wales in 2015, working at St George hospital before completing the GP Synergy Training Program. She is currently working as a full time GP at The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby, and looking to devote her career to promoting quality family health and superior continuity of care to her patients.

Dr Ning enjoys caring for all age groups, from all cultural and social backgrounds. Her area of special interest is in women’s health and paediatrics, with a career goal of helping families fulfill their full potential by promoting a healthy active lifestyle. Dr Ning’s skill set also includes cosmetic medicine to promote skin radiance and appearance, allowing people from all backgrounds to feel confident about their image.

Outside caring for patients, Dr Ning enjoys travelling, scuba diving, playing badminton with friends and spending time with her family and pets. Dr Ning is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Dr Jung-Yoon Huh

MBBS, FRACGP, Diploma in Child Health, B.Pharm

Dr Jung-Yoon Huh embarked on her career as a pharmacist after graduating from the University of Otago in New Zealand.  Whilst she enjoyed the role of ensuring the safe use of medications and patient education, she realised her passion for more holistic, patient-centred care in the community.  Dr Huh returned to study medicine at the University of Sydney while raising a young family in 2007.  During this period, she experienced first-hand the importance of women’s role in supporting their families and community.  As a mother,  she was naturally drawn to paediatrics.  

After internship and residency at Westmead hospital, she undertook further training to complete a Diploma in Women’s health (DRANZCOG) and Children’s health (DCH).   She obtained invaluable clinical experiences at various hospitals across NSW but was ultimately attracted to primary care.  Dr Huh feels privileged to provide quality health care to patients and their families by incorporating digital health and technology in her practice. 

She provides a wide range of services in women’s health; shared antenatal care with Royal North Shore and Hornsby Hospital, insertion and removal of Implanon and intrauterine devices, cervical screening test, STI check and menopause.  She is also accredited for prescribing restricted medications to treat chronic hepatitis B. 

Dr Huh is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society and Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine.  She regularly volunteers in community work, especially for culturally and linguistically diverse groups.  She is fluent in Korean (한국어) and English.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading books with a cup of coffee, attending webinars, and driving her children to extra-curricular activities.

After eight fulfilling years dedicated to the Hornsby community, Dr Jung-Yoon Huh has decided to leave the Hornsby Madison Medical Practice to focus on the Northbridge practice.  Dr Huh has greatly enjoyed the opportunity to care for her patients and contribute to their well-being. Her deep commitment and passion for providing exceptional medical care have made a lasting impact on the community. While she embarks on this new journey, Dr Huh remains hopeful that she may return to her beloved Hornsby practice in the future.

Dr Kuldeep S Sidhu

MBBS FRACGP. Speaks Hindi, Punjabi and Bahasa Malaysia.

Dr Kuldeep Sidhu was born in Malaysia and studied undergraduate medicine in India at Manipal which he completed in 1981. Kuldeep returned to work in Malaysia for six years before pursuing postgraduate studies in the UK and migrated to Australia in 1989, where he completed his registration and FRACP and commenced his professional career in General Practice.

In 2002 Kuldeep established The Madison Medical Practice in Hornsby, with a focus to deliver the highest possible medical care for his patients. Kuldeep has a keen interest in Aged Care, Mental Health, Men’s, Women’s & Children’s Health.  His dedication and commitment over the years to his patients has shown that he is a well-respected empathetic Medical Practitioner within the Hornsby community. Dr Sidhu is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Bahasa Malaysia.

Dr Ying Yu

BSc (Med), MBBS (UNSW), FRACGP, Diploma Child Health

Dr Ying Yu is a fellow of Royal College of General practitioners, and graduated from the University of New South Wales and completed her internship and residency at Westmead Hospital where she gained experience in Emergency, General Medicine, Psychiatry and Surgery. Ying has since worked at Children’s Hospital at Westmead where she completed Diploma of Child Health, various practices including Laurieton, Springwood and Carlingford.

Ying also values the teaching future GPs and has been an examiner for the Royal College of General Practitioners and took part as a GP registrar supervisor for GP Synergy, the teaching body for GPs for Australia.

Ying thoroughly enjoys all aspects of General Practice, particularly the opportunity to being able to provide continuity of care for her patients and their families. Ying has special interests in women’s health, children’s health, and mental health and is fluent in Mandarin.

Dr Christopher Vartuli

MD, Dip. Child Health

Chris graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2018 and completed his hospital training at Concord and Nepean hospitals. He then went on to undergo his first year of GP training in the colourful town of Orange in Western NSW. Chris completed the Sydney Child Health Program through the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network in 2020, and has a specific interest in paediatric medicine. His other interests include preventative health, chronic disease, emergency, addiction, occupational, allergy and nursing home medicine. He is committed to providing compassionate and quality care to his patients encompassing every aspect of their physical and mental health.

He enjoys building long-lasting professional relationships with his patients and following up with them regularly to optimise their health outcomes.

Dr Shirley Shen

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Shirley Shen is a fellow of Royal College of General practitioners. She is a dedicated general practitioner with a strong foundation in medicine. She began her medical education at Jiao Tong University Medical School in Shanghai, China, and furthered her expertise with a Master’s degree in Clinical Ophthalmology. Since 2018, Dr Shen has been serving as a General Practitioner in Australia, applying her extensive knowledge across various medical specialties.

Dr Shen’s areas of expertise and interest include:

Dr Sharmila Kumar

Dr Sharmila Kumar completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners with more than 22 years of clinical experience in all aspects of general practice.

Dr Kumar is passionate about providing a high standard of care to all her patients and also speaks Tamil. Her special interests include preventative health, women’s health (antenatal shared care and peri/menopause), dermatology, ophthalmology, aged care, and social prescribing. She has completed a Diploma of Dermatology from Wales, UK, as well as a Certificate of Medical Education.

Dr Kumar is an Adjunct Lecturer at Sydney Medical School and has worked for six years as a Medical Educator with the RACGP. She is a strong advocate of excellent communication, shared decision-making, continuity of care, and community health.

Outside of medicine, Dr Kumar is an avid tennis player. She is also passionate about music and dance, having trained in Indian classical dance.

Dr Lakshi Gauthaman

GP Registrar

The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby welcomes Dr Lakshmi Gauthaman a GP Registrar who will start consulting in February. Dr Gauthaman graduated in 2017 with MBBS from Sydney University, completed her internship and residency at Blacktown-Mt Druitt hospitals, and further paediatric training at Westmead Children’s hospital and Hornsby Hospital. She has also completed Sydney Child Health program, as well as a Ph.D through research, working on stem cells. During her GP training years, she has also worked rurally at Bathurst where she gained clinical experience across a broader range of ailments.

Dr Gauthaman enjoys all aspects of general practice particularly in preventative medicine, women’s health (including Implanon insertion and removal) and paediatrics; and looks forward to the opportunity to provide preventative and holistic medical care to the beautiful local community in which she resides with her family.

Dr Adele Liu

GP Registrar

The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby welcomes Dr Adele Liu, who is returning as a full-time RACGP Registrar commencing her placement on 4 August 2025. Dr Adele originally joined us from August 2024 to February 2025 at our Hornsby Practice, where she provided exceptional care to the local community. We are excited to welcome her back! 

Dr Adele graduated from the University of New South Wales and is currently undergoing training to excel as a dedicated general practitioner, deeply committed to delivering holistic care to her patients. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Child Health, reflecting her burgeoning interest in paediatrics, alongside a strong focus on women’s health and preventative medicine. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, she ensures effective communication with a diverse range of patients.

Dr Chung-Yao Yu

BSc Med, MBBS FRACP Consultant Physician & Cardiologist

Dr Chung-Yao Yu is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Sydney North Cardiology group and the Mater Hospital. Chung-Yao is passionate about patient care and has been conducting a Cardiac Clinicc at The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby for the past 5 years.  Chung-Yao completed his fellowship in Cardiac Imaging in St Vincent’s hospital and holds a PhD in Cardiac Imaging. Chung-Yao’s special interests include cardiac imaging, general cardiology and heart failure. He also performs complex diagnostic procedures and is an accredited Level B CT coronary angiography specialist. Dr Amanda Khor

BMed/MD, BSc(Hons), MBBS FRACP Consultant Physician & Geriatrician

The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby is delighted to welcome Dr Amanda Khor a specialist Geriatrician who will start consulting in March 2025.

Dr Khor is a member of Fellow of the Australian College of Physicians and graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMed/MD), and a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc(Hons)). She completed advanced training in geriatric medicine at Wollongong Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and Concord Hospital.

Amanda developed a deep passion for geriatric medicine early in her career as an intern. She is committed to providing holistic, individualised care and supporting patients through complex and challenging situations. Her passion lies in preventative care for the ageing population, maximising quality of life, and advancing research in geriatrics. Amanda delights in educating and mentoring medical students and junior doctors.

Leesa Garrety – Registered Psychologist

Registered Psychologist - BSc (Psychology); Master of Arts; DipEd (Primary)

Leesa is a Registered Psychologist, who trained at the University of New South Wales and Sydney University. She has extensive knowledge and experience in working with acute and chronic clinical Mental Health presentations, such as schizophrenia and bipolar, as well as with gambling addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting concerns and has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults as well as older persons. Her special interests are parenting interventions, attachment theory depression, anxiety, gambling and post natal depression and psycho-education.

Leesa is a Psychology Supervisor and mentors and teaches Psychology Interns. She works collaboratively, using a variety of therapy styles including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution Focussed therapy, Motivational Interviewing and strengths based therapy. Leesa’s approach to treatment is that is should be a collaboration, with the aim to assist the client to identify and build on their strengths to help them to live the fulfilling and value filled life they deserve.

She is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and Medicare and a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI).

Dr Anne-Marie Hutchinson – Clinical Psychologist

Psych (Hons) M. Psych (Clinical) – Clinical Psychologist

Dr Anne-Marie Hutchinson is a registered clinical psychologist with a special interest in medical and health psychology. She has worked for over a decade in private practice as well as consulting in the hospital sector with assisting individuals with adjustment, coping and finding meaning in the face of chronic or terminal illness, injury or surgery, disability, and general mental health. She has experience in treating adults with depression, PTSD, anxiety, stress, trauma, pain management, grief, oncology, and psychological aspects of various medical conditions such as Diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease. Dr Hutchinson believes that psychological well-being and resilience means not only identifying what goes wrong for individuals from a psychological perspective, but also on what goes right with people, and how clients can be facilitated through the process of therapy to access their strengths and the resilient parts of themselves.

Training has included various modalities including evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy and mindfulness. Dr Hutchinson also undertook extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and existential/Gestalt psychology as part of a D Litt et Phil program. She has presented research on resilience and psychological well-being at various conferences and training programs and has been published nationally and internationally. Overall, every client is unique and this uniqueness dictates what therapeutic approach is deemed most appropriate.

Dr Hutchinson is registered with AHPRA and holds a “clinical psychology” endorsement, is a Medicare provider and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and International Association for Clinical Neuropsychotherapy (IACN).

Gauri Donald

Dietitian

Gauri is an Accredited Practising Dietitian specializing in digestive health and diabetes management. She grew up in the country side on fresh vegetarian food and loved growing vegetables from a young age. Gauri has a special interest in South Asian Diets and Vegetarian diets but believes that healthy eating is possible in every culture and cuisine.  She is passionate about cooking from fresh ingredients and trialling various cuisines. She is a mother of a toddler and understands the challenges of cooking for a family with varying nutritional needs and tastes.

Gauri has been working as a dietitian for 10 years and in private practice 6 years. She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team who are committed to holistic and preventative health. Gauri’s favourite thing about being a private dietitian is getting to know and help her patients from diverse backgrounds to love food and enjoy good health. Gauri has had experience in a major public hospitals and various nursing homes. Dr Quincy Tse

Podiatrist

Quincy is a Registered Podiatrist working in both public hospitals and in private practice. He aims to help clients of all ages stay active and on their feet by assessing, diagnosing and treating foot and lower limb problems. Conditions that can be managed by a Podiatrist include skin conditions such as corn, callus, wart, cracked heels, and tinea; nail conditions such as thickened nail and ingrown toenails; foot and ankle injuries including foot and ankle pain, sprains and fractures; pain in the legs, knee, hip and back due to poor biomechanics of the feet; and problems with gait including flat and high arch feet, bunions, and other toe deformities; as well as paediatric foot conditions such as Sever’s Disease and Osgood-Schlatter’s Disease. Quincy also monitors, diagnoses and manages foot complications related to medical conditions such as diabetes, including performing the recommended biannual assessments of diabetic feet, and managing ulcers and other foot related complications. He has a special interest using a range of evidence-based interventions to manage lower limb conditions. In addition to the traditional skin and nail care techniques, Quincy also performs minor surgical procedures for the management of ingrown toe nails as well as local anaesthetic injections for management of certain painful conditions. He is also interested in the prescription and manufacturing of orthoses (shoe inserts) for the treatment of a range of foot related conditions, in conjunction with other therapies such as taping and exercise. Jessica is passionate about health care and fitness and has developed many skills working in multiple physiotherapy settings: Private practice, hospitals and occupational rehab. She has completed, Bounce Back lower back preventative core exercise training programs and the esteemed Professor Jill Cook’s Lower Limb Tendinopathy course and Sports Level 1.

Amy Zheng is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator passionate about empowering adults living with prediabetes, type 1, and type 2 diabetes. She provides personalised, practical strategies to support confident self-management and improve everyday health and wellbeing.

Amy offers expert guidance for individuals using insulin therapy, including those considering or currently using insulin pump therapy. She is highly skilled in the use of diabetes technology—such as continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems and smart insulin pens—and can help integrate these tools into your daily routine for more effective and streamlined diabetes management.

Since 2007, Amy has worked in chronic disease management, bringing extensive clinical experience and a strong focus on diabetes care. In addition to her clinical role, she coordinates and teaches in the Postgraduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), supporting the development of future diabetes educators.

Amy is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Linda Severino RN

Linda Severino is an experienced registered, child & family health nurse, nurse immuniser & the director of the Madison Medical Practices. Linda graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing at The University of Western Sydney in 1992. To complement her skills, she later completed another Degree in health majoring in management, health promotion and education. Linda has extensive clinical & managerial experience within the hospital & community health settings, by leading both clinical and non-clinical personnel, and has been a Mentor to many students over the past 30 years. Linda is a qualified child and family health nurse & nurse immuniser. Linda has extensive experience with babies & prides herself on assisting and educating mothers with their newborns. Linda’s care and devotion to her patients has seen her become a popular Health Care Professional.

Linda is currently the operations manager of the practices and also nurses when relieving staff.

Pinky is a Registered Nurse and Nurse Immuniser she graduated with a Bachelor degree of Nursing at Central Philippine Adventist College in year 2009. Most of her experience has been within hospital settings specifically in both Surgical and Theatres. Pinky has also attained a Graduate Certificate of Nursing (Bridging Course) at Australian College of Nursing in Parramatta in 2020, and completed her Immunisation Course this year, as she has been enjoying General Practice care.

Joyce Moreland (Practice Nurse) RN

Registered Nurse / Midwife / Nurse Immuniser

Practice / Registered Nurse, Midwife, Nurse Immuniser, Well women and Respiratory Nurse. Joyce is the in-charge Nurse within the practice. She trained in England as a Registered Nurse in Derbyshire and later went on to do her midwifery training in Liverpool, UK. She has extensive experience in the hospital setting and then as a community midwife for over 15 years, working both in the community and in the birthing unit and teaching antenatal and postnatal classes. For the last 20 years she has worked in a GP setting and is a qualified Nurse Immuniser and Respiratory nurse. Joyce is also involved in conducting a Women’s Wellness Clinic, something that she used to do when she was in the UK. Please speak to Joyce if you would like more information about this Clinic. To relax Joyce enjoys gardening, baking and craft activities.

Chaska Salazar RN

The Madison Medical Practice is pleased to welcome our newest registered nurse, Chaska. Chaska completed her Bachelor of Nursing Degree at Australian Catholic University; she then underwent her New Graduate role at North Shore Private before moving to Royal North Shore Hospital, where she gained experience in a fast-paced surgical ward. Chaska found her passion in Primary Health Care and loves the aspect of building ongoing patient relationships and patient-focused care. She is currently undertaking her Nurse Immuniser course and aims to soon become a Child and Family Health Nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys competing in water polo and CrossFit.

She enjoys working in general practice particularly, as it gives her the opportunity to be involved with the ongoing care of patients.
